Arabesque
Adapted from a recipe by Amalia Santi, Rama Bar, Sestri Levante, Italy.
90 ml (3 oz) Grey Goose vodka
45 ml (1.5 oz) Matusalem Gran Reserva rum
45 ml (1.5 oz) Monin strawberry puree
30 ml (1 oz) Monin orgeat syrup
90 ml (3 oz) orange juice
3 dashes Tuaca
1 vanilla pod, as garnish
1 strawberry, as garnish
Shake over ice and strain into a highball glass over fresh ice. Add the garnishes.
gaz sez: Arabesque is a style of drink that I seldom order, but oh, my, my, when I sampled this baby I was reminded that fruit Daiquiris can be splendid, indeed. The Tuaca in this drink is added in a minute quantity, but it does a great job of bringing the other ingredients together in harmony. Nice one, Amalia.
