Dark Chocolate Proposal

1” square chocolate brownie (ideally from Painter’s)

.5 oz (15 ml) Eli Mason Demerarra Syrup

.75 oz (22.5 ml) fresh orange juice

2 dashes Bitter Truth’s Jerry Thomas Own Decanter Bitters

1.5 oz (45 ml) Laird’s Applejack

.75 oz (22.5 ml) Suze

1 “ square brownie wrapped in long swath or orange twist, as garnish

1 barspoon Ron Zacapa Centenario Sistema Solera 23 Rum, as float

Muddle first four ingredients in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients and shake over ice. Double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Add the garnish and the float. Then smile.
