1 Demerara sugar cube
1 dash squid ink
1 dash Angostura bitters
splash of soda
60 ml (2 oz) Ron Zacapa 23
Place the sugar cube into an old-fashioned glass, and add the squid ink, the bitters, and the club soda. Crush the sugar cube with a barspoon and stir till all is dissolved. Add ice, then add the spirit while stirring constantly.
gaz sez: This is delectable. The squid ink is hard to detect, but if you search for a slight briny-ness you’ll find it here, and the lush sweetness of the Zacapa is the perfect foil!
